Over 300 trains have so far been impacted by the Agnipath protests, which are taking place.
At least 250 individuals have been detained in Uttar Pradesh as a result of the "Agnipath" protests, which have seen throngs of incensed youth assaulting railroad stations in cities and small villages while brandishing bamboo sticks and stones and besieging roadways.
Meanwhile, raging mobs burnt BJP offices, automobiles, and other property during rallies against "Agnipath" on Friday, leaving Bihar in flames and forcing the authorities to suspend internet access in about a third of the state.
Due to protests, 159 passenger trains and 210 mail/express trains had to be cancelled.
According to sources, the protests against the Agnipath recruitment programme forced the Railways to cancel 369 trains today. Among them are 159 local passenger trains and 210 mail/express trains.
According to the officials, a total of 371 trains will be affected throughout the day as a result of the Railways partially cancelling two mail/express trains.
Guntur Station in Andhra Pradesh receives increased security, 200 taken into custody
In light of the nationwide "Agnipath" protests, security has been stepped up at the Guntur Railway station in Andhra Pradesh with a significant police presence.
Arif Hafiz, the chief of police in Guntur, said: "At the Guntur Railway station, a large police presence has been established. Some young people are opposing the Agneepath Scheme in Secunderabad, Bihar, and other cities throughout the nation. The DSPs, CI, SI, Constable, and others are deployed to maintain law and order in Guntur in order to prevent any incident."
He also asked the demonstrators to do so quietly.
