This will enable you to complete other tasks while on a call. |
Google has just made it simple for you to multitask while participating in a Google Meet call. Picture-in-picture (PiP) support has been enabled by the firm to Google Meet on Chrome, and this will be especially helpful if you need to read documents or another website while participating in a Google Meet session.
However, as you might anticipate given the PiP version of Google Meet's plainly smaller window, it won't display every caller. Instead, only four callers—likely the most recent speakers—will be displayed in the Google Meet pop-up window. In order to allow you to continue working, pull up a document, visit other websites, etc. while you are on the call, this pop-up window will float above all other windows that are active on your desktop.
At any time during the call, you can change to the PiP mode. Once the capability is made accessible to you, you may use it by selecting PiP from the context menu when you right-click on a call.
Google is also introducing a multipin feature to conversations that will let users to keep more video feeds active throughout a call. In order to customise the display so that it best fits your meeting, Google said that this will provide users "more flexibility in how you blend people and content."
Because Google is using an extended rollout strategy, it may take more than two weeks for everyone to receive the PiP and multipin features. All users of Google Workspace, G Suite, and personal accounts will be able to access the new capabilities.
