He asserts that the fusion of 6G with AI could result in extended reality, or XR, which blurs the still-clear distinctions between the physical and digital worlds by permitting simultaneous interaction with both.

The future trend, according to Zhang, is the convergence of AI with 6G, which goes beyond just imposing AI on the newest wireless technology.
